Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Letterbox: 40 yards
The "Evening Cruise" letterbox is located at Lake Quinalt Lodge, near Olympic National Park. This old lodge is great, with friendly staff, confortable rooms, a great grassy yards, excellent food and a nice boat cruise in the evening to see the eagles and otters.
Directions:
From Hwy 101, going north from Aberdeen, turn right just after Neilton on South Shore Road. Go about a mile or two to lodge on your left. Find place to park.
To the Letterbox:
Go in lodge and check out the back grass area and lake. Return inside and walk through and out other side and go right on the circle driveway to South Shore Rd. Walk across the street to the trail head sign. Walk up the trail (Quinalt Loop Trail) 60 steps from the sign. You should be a a flat park of the trail. To your right is a large tree in the gully. To your left is a lone small tree. Take 4 steps off the trail to this small tree. Box is behind it under a 6" x 6" rock.
