Difficulty: Tough hike, but worth it!
Distance: 12 miles round trip
This letterbox is located at Garibaldi Lake, in Garibaldi Prov Park. This uphill trail will lead you past 2 smaller lakes, then eventually to Lake Garibaldi. All 3 are beautiful. It is s tough hike, but the end result is worth all the effort!!!
Directions:
From Whistler, BC, go south about 17 miles to exit for Garibaldi Lake, and park in lot.
To the Letterbox:
Walk the long trail all the way to Garibaldi Lake. Once there, cross the bridge over the creak, then walk shoreline until you get to the Ranger Station. From porch, go down stairs on the left (facing out) and go straight 10 steps. Go left on path for 28 steps to lake shore. Go left along shore until path that goes onto island. Go right onto the island, but stay left and go along that shoreline heading around the island clock wise. Pass 2 benches and red "no camping" sign. Stop when reach a green rope on right with green sign up the hill. Reach under the green rope to the bottom right of the rock wall, box is behind small rock in the wall.
