Bottomless Lakes State Park is actually several small lakes/sink holes bordered by high red bluffs, and range in depth from 17 to 90 feet. After visiting the aliens in town, it seemed like they were still watching us out here.
DIRECTIONS: From Roswell, head east on US 380 for 12 miles and then south on NM 409 for three miles. At mile marker 6, park in the lot for the scenic overlook above Lea Lake.
CLUES: Go to the southwest corner of the parking lot, with the Mesquite. Check for a small black pouch under the pink rock behind the Mesquite near the first post north of the corner, on the north side. (It might be easier to reach it from the outside of the fence, but do be cautious of desert critters)
