I climbed the peak again today and it is GONE!!!

You will need to purchase a Northwest Forest Pass in order to park here. The letterbox is on top of Sherman's Peak and is as close to the definition of an extreme letterbox as you can get without being one according to the definition on AQ. From Sherman Pass/ Kettle Crest parking area take Kettle Crest Trail # 13 South. At the trail junction(a half mile into the hike), take the left path that stays to the east side of Sherman Peak I would highly recommend that you purchase the book by James Johnson entitled "50 Hikes for Eastern Washington's Highest Mountains" as this adventure leaves the trail in order to climb to the top of this mountain. It is the 10th highest peak in Eastern Washington at 7011 feet. The book said it would take 30 minutes to reach the top after you leave the trail. It took me more like 50-60 minutes and was not easy on the way up or the way down due to downed snags left over from the White Mountain fire of 1988 and all the rocks that you have to scramble across. Beware of tippy, unbalanced rocks. You really shouldn't attempt this box unless you are in good shape, have experience doing this sort of thing and you are not afraid of heights!

Clues:
Once you summit you will see a rather wide cairn on the eastern edge. 70 degrees magnetic you will see a small depression in the rocks that is about 7 steps away over smallish tippy rocks. There is a bigger rock that is a good place to sit. Your back will be roughly to the south. Looking down and to your left about half way to your feet you will see a square rock with an orange tint along one edge. Lift it up to reveal the satellite!

Bring:
A companion, first aid kit, storm weather clothes, food and water, hiking poles, sturdy boots, sunscreen, the book mentioned above and a compass. Bring Silver Ink to get the right effect for the image.
