This letterbox has gone missing. Working on replacing it soon.

The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy was founded in 1985. This non-profit organization is dedicated to converting abandoned rail corridors into a nationwide network of multipurpose trails. Ohio leads the nation in rail trail projects.

The Clyde/Fremont Section of the North Coast Inland Trail opened to the public on September 28, 1997. Since then, many people both young and old take advantage of this off road trail for a leisurely walk, run, & ride.

We thought this was the perfect place to hide Puppy Trails, in memory of our beloved dog of 14 years.

You can pick up the trail at many locations. But, for this letterbox it is best that you start by parking downtown in Clyde in the parking lot just off of Maple St. where the trail begins in this quaint little town. It is a short ride or walk, only .94 miles going west on the trail. When you reach the .94 mile marker, stop and take 4 paces further west from the marker. To the right is a small patch of brush. Enter here but be careful not to step into the whole that is right at the edge of the ditch line. You’ll notice a tree that is slightly curved to the right as you enter the brush area (on the right side). Look under the backside and you will find puppy trails. It should have a little debris covering it. Be sure once you stamp in to recover it and place well hidden from others that use the trail.
