Devil's Hopyard State Park
East Haddam, CT
366 Hopyard Road
From CT Route 9: take Exit 7, then a left at the end of the exit ramp onto CT Route 82 east/154 north. Take a right at the first traffic light following CT Route 82 east and follow the signs.
From Interstate 395: take Exit 80 west. Take a right onto CT Route 82 west. Take a right onto Hopyard Road and follow signs.
From I-91S: take Exit 22 for Route 9 South, Exit 7. Take a left at the end of the exit ramp onto CT Route 82 east/154 north. Take a right at the first traffic light following CT Route 82 east and follow the signs.

The clues below BEGIN from Devils Hopyard Vista -- start by taking the Orange Vista trail up to the Vista.
At the Vista while standing on the rocks facing the overlook, look right and find the path of the crooked and twisted trees. Follow the path for about 30 adult paces, bearing right as you make your way down the path. After the 30 paces, at your left you will see a rocky ledge. Continue on for another 10 paces under a fallen tree, and look for the tree trunk (2-3 foot in length) that points the way. Find the fallen "Y" shaped tree, and find the box. Please make an entry in my notebook to let me know you swam by!
