Batty Letterbox

This letter was established during a visit to Texas to commemorate our first bat viewing. Round Rock Texas has a Mexican free-tail bat colony which lives under a bridge on interstate I-35. The bats fly out from under the bridge at dusk from mid-March until the end of October.

To locate the letterbox park in the parking lot at the north eastern corner of I-35 and McNeil Road. Behind the business, just east of the NE corner of the building you will see a concrete water drain. Stand on the concrete and face east. Ahead and to the slight left you will see caged rocks. Directly in front of you will be a berm. Walk along the top of the berm for about 50 steps until you come upon a tree growing at the top of the berm. Letterbox is located near base of tree.
