TEMPUS FUGIT #6 (Bradley Family Cemetery)

www.monroehistoricsociety.org/buryinggrounds

Take Rt 111N to the end where it intersects with Rt34. Take RT34 West (left) for about a half-mile. When you pass Jordan Hill Rd on your left, your next quick left will be Bradley Lane. Take a left onto Bradley Lane. Go under the power lines, and past Nutmeg Lane on your left. Cemetery is in the woods on your right.

This letterbox has two stamps, each concealed in different locations in the cemetery. The first stamp is contained in a small black plastic pouch and is the TOP of the tombstone. It is a winged hourglass, representing the "tempus fugit" (time flies) image carved into many colonial gravestones. When you have found the Top, STAMP IN. The second stamp which is the TEXT of the tombstone is contained in a box along wiht a pad. No ink is provided, so bring your own.

TOP: Enter the classic iron cemetery gate. Stop and look to the right to see the large CALHOUN monument. Go and make the acquaintence of John C. Calhoun and of his wife Julia C. Hamilton. The TOMBSTONE TOP is hidden under the corner of this side of the monument.(PLEASE DON'T STEAL IT!)

TEXT: Turn around and face the stone wall. See the large tree in front of you, right outside of the wall? Look to the left and see a thin tree on the inside of the wall. Just to the left of the thin tree, at the base of the wall, you will see a ghostly speckled stone. This stone conceals the hiding place of the TOMBSTONE TEXT LETTERBOX.

Stamp in. PLEASE replace the box, carefully.
