The Conant Brook Dam is located on Conant Brook in Monson, Massachusetts, about 7.4|mi|km upstream from the confluence of Conant Brook and the Quaboag River. It is approximately 15|mi|km east of Springfield, Massachusetts. Designed and constructed by the United States Army Corps of Engineers in 1964, this dam substantially reduces flooding along the Quaboag.

Directions to Conant Brook Dam, Monson, MA
From Palmer, drive 4 miles South on MA 32, then left on Wales Road, East 1.4 mi to dam.

Park in the Conant Dam parking area and proceed on the lower dirt road toward the pond below. Once you reach the bottom of the pond, follow the rocky path past the concete and pipe “wing” up the hill until you reach the large cable/telephone poles lying on the ground.

Bear to the right and follow the path down the hill. When you reach the bottom of the hill, continue right toward a small stone and concrete bridge. You will find the box hidden on the right side of the bridge, within its rock wall, three rocks from the farthest end as you walk.

Continue to walk around the pond and up the hill along the path leading back to the parking lot.
