Jay Cooke State Park is one of the most overlooked state parks. We have gone to Duluth at least once a year for the last 22 years and have always drove past, until a few years ago. There is a swing bridge over the St. Louis River that is really cool. The scenery is fantastic!

Clue: Find the Thomson Cemetery pull-over. Take the steps up the hill. To your left is the start of the Thomson Trail. Stand next to the trail sign. Take 95 steps down the trail. On your right is a tree that is split. In its’ hallow you will find the stranger. We saw 5 of these strangers when we were looking for a location for this letterbox plant.

You will need a Minnesota State Park Permit to be in Jay Cooke State Park. Please leave no trace behind. Thank you to Minnesota DNR for granting permission for this letterbox!!
