On Ali’i Drive, stop at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, known locally as the “Little Blue Church”. It is next to Kahalu’u Beach Park where sea turtles (honu) abound. Walk the path towards the church and as you are facing the church, notice five trees behind the lava wall to your left. Look for the palm tree farthest to the right, (as you are facing the ocean). Right next to the palm tree, look for the BIG lava rock with a swirly, fan-shaped pattern. To the left of this big rock there is a smaller rock. DISCREETLY remove the smaller box to find the letterbox! Enter the date, your name, age, the city you live in and any other relevant information. Take some time to watch the surfers and snorkel at Kahalu’u where you’ll probably be fortunate enough to swim with the turtles!
