Where it is: Downtown Ipswich loop includes Riverwalk. Start at top of Town Hill (North Main St.) there will be parking in front of the Ipswich Public Library or close by. You may also want to park on Market St, as that is where you will end up.

1.Start at the “Devil’s Footprint” (First Church on Town Hill) the footprint is in a rock towards the front of the church, toward the right if your facing town (Green circle and arrows pointing to it). When you find it, face downtown Ipswich. Look to your left and go towards the place where books are plentiful. Pass through the wrought iron gate. In the circle tucked under the bench to the right side as you are facing it, the greenery will hide a bag of treats.

2.Take the stairs to the back of the library and continue down to the street. Cross the street and face the place where the children like to play. Before the gate you’ll find a 4 trunk tree. Under the root of the tree you will find a pumpkin growing.

3.Pass under the trees to the field of play. Go to the diamond that is hidden away. Behind home plate you will find a triple tree that bows to the left. Hidden in the opening at the bottom of the tree you will see a little ant.

4.Go down the hill and take a walk down the river towards County Road. When you see the stairs going up, walk a little farther to the first Maple tree there hidden by the stick on the front side is some candy we’ve hidden just for you.

5.Take County Rd. toward the South Green. Go through the wooden gate to the oldest standing structure in the country (Whipple House) and to the right of the stairs that lead to Sally’s pond, search below the bushes where the bees often buzz.

6.To finish your quest take the bridge to the left (River Walk Bridge) to the historical mural of Ipswich. The Riverwalk flag will point you to the fallen star in the hollow of the third tree on the banks of the mighty Ipswich River.

7.If you would like to continue on to Zumi’s- only steps away from our last letterbox (ice cream, hot chocolate, coffee,etc..) see below for the letterbox placed by Nalyd.

no purchase necessary, and many thanks to Umesh for graciously placing the box there. This is the official hot-spot in town for meetings, social and business-- the coffee is really gooooood!
