DIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD:
Enter Elm Bank Reservation off Route 16 in Wellesley (near South Natick). Go over the one-lane bridge which crosses the Charles River. Take a right after the bridge and follow the one-way driveway around the perimeter of the park, past the soccer fields, and the Horticultural Society buildings. You'll see a trail head on your right next to a bench. Keep driving. Go over a little stone bridge and park at the Canoe launch. Then walk back to the trailhead and start this short, flat hike. The trail is called Riverside on the map. Here's a map if you'd like: https://www.birdobserver.org/Portals/0/Assets/bo47-6/Elm_Bank_bw.jpg?ver=2019-12-01-090923-830
FYI: This box was refurbished and moved and the clue updated 5/31/23.
CLUE:
Follow the Riverside Trail with the river on your left. Go past 2 forks keeping left each time. You'll come to a small river viewing area with a bench. From the bench, take approximately 35 steps as you continue on the path. You'll come to a Beech tree on your left shaped like a "V". Take 10 steps towards the river and you'll find a large tree trunk on the ground. The box is hidden in tree trunk's root end under a rock and some leaves. Be stealthy - this is a popular walking trail. Make sure you cover it back up.
Enjoy the nice view.
