Well the little girl went and did it. Yup, she had another birthday. Baby D is my true letterboxing buddy. She has been with me on the trails since I started when she was not yet a year old! So, to celebrate, we found a newer preserve with no boxes and placed one there.

"Lof Woodlands is an 18 acre preserve that was donated to the Trust in 2009 by Jon Lof. For 30 years, he tapped maple trees on the property to produce maple syrup, while his wife Ruth operated a bird-banding station where she banded over 10,000 birds.
Today the property features a mature mixed hardwood forest with some majestic oaks measuring 20" in diameter. The half mile trail is level and mostly dry, and is appropriate for cross-country skiing as well as a pleasant woodland walk."

Directions:
From the intersection of routes 44 & 195 in Mansfield, go North on route 195 for 350 feet. Turn right onto route 320 (Willington Hill Road). Go .4 miles to the parking area on the right shoulder (opposite Sumner Drive).

Enter the yellow blazed trail and immediately bear left on the loop trail.
Walk along and you will see some large rocks on your right.
Turn right with the trail and you will be walking with a low stone wall to your left.
Come to a very large Hemlock along the side of the trail.
Stop here and looking left beyond the Hemlock, you should see where the wall gains quite a bit in height.
Walk to the beginning of the tall section of the wall.
Look 2 feet to the right and find the box behind a trap door.

Stamp in and please re-hide this box well so that others may find it also.

Continue on yellow and you will soon find your car.

Have fun.
