Mitter Tmiff once belonged to a great Traveling Band, that played dancing music across Texas. When the rest of the musicians decided to settle down and live ordinary lives, he continued to travel to teach music to those who wanted to learn. In every town he visited, he left one of the Traveling Band's instruments in a secret spot. Mitter Tmiff hoped that one day, a very special student would find all of his instruments and re-form the Traveling Band to get the people dancing again.
Mitter Tmiff's French horn is in Bicentennial Park. He chose this new home for the French horn because the smooth, soothing notes helped to calm the angry hornets who lived under the tables so that they would not fight each other.**
TO THE PARK:
From Hwy 62/82/114, follow the sign (from either direction) that directs you to Downtown, the Museum and the Library. This is Harrison St. From Harrison, turn right on 5th St. Bicentennial Park will be on your left at the intersection of 5th and Tyler.
TO THE BOX:
Go to the gazebo at the back of the park. Look behind it to where the chain link fence meets the metal fence/wall where some trees and brush are nestled in the corner. The box is hidden in the brush at the base of the skinnier tree. Please re-hide well, adding any sticks, bark, or leaves that are needed to further conceal it.
Keep an eye out for the rest of Mitter Tmiff's instruments!
Please log your finds here and let us know if the box needs any maintenance.
**Don't be alarmed -- when you get there you'll see what we mean about the hornets. :D
