This is not in Southern Oregon!
Alive and Well as of 09/16/06

Going over Mt. Hood, Take Route 58. This small "pond" is surreal and quite amazing in clear or cloudy weather! Not to be missed. This is a short 240 yard distance to the viewing platform (handicapped accessable). For the more hiking oriented, it is about a 2 mile hike from Timothy Lake. Once there take a breath and say WOW! There is life in the "pond" We saw a crayfish as big as a lobster!

Clue: From the platform follow the gravel trail the boardwalk/bridge. There is a very obvious LBer's delightful hiding place to the right in the crook of the big tree. Even with other visitors you should have no problem reaching this one from the back side. Do use discretion, they will wonder what you are doing back there! Watch the vegetation, it has started growing around the tree!

Enjoy a picnic under the tree by the "pond"
We did!
