Hike: very easy, great for kids. Maybe 1/2 miles total
Clues: easy, done by kids

I-90, 12 miles east of North Bend, take the Tinkham Rd. exit, and follow to the Tinkham Campground. Turn left into the campgound. The trail head is across the road from campsite #9, and between #8 and #10. Take the trail through the mossy woods, past the first bench. Then proceed along the trail crossing under the Archway of Life (named by ME)as you cross the long boardwalk (careful - this can be a bit slippery when damp). You will go up a very slight incline, at the top of which you will see two very old, large tree stumps. The one on the left has a big tree growing out of it, and has covered the stump with its roots, and looks pretty cool. Go down the little hill, and notice the swampy area to your left. Go over the little boardwalk, and look up to your right. You will see a large old snag, that looks like a big V, with the right side burned, possibly by lightning. Staying on the trail, look to the left and a bit beyond the V snag, and you will see a very old tree stump, maybe about 3 feet tall. The stump is about 16 Mom steps off the trail, to the left and behind the V snag. Inside the stump you will find the Mom + Me letterbox.
We suggest continuing on the trail until you get to the lake - we don't know the name, but it appears that this area was once logged (there are so many old, huge tree stumps), and the lake is full of old logs. We placed this box in the fall after a very dry summer, so things may look a little different in the spring, but the clues should still be accurate.
