An Apple for My Teacher

The Germania School was in operation from 1881-1940 educating children of all ages at this site. The school building is now gone but a marker honors its existence.

Clues:
From Brenham, take HWY 36 S. Before you approach the Kenney exit, take Loop 497 to the right as it curves under the railroad tracks. Make a right onto FM 2754 S heading toward Nelsonville. Travel approximately 3 miles. Make a left into the Germania Cemetery and park at the school site marker. Walk 75 steps to the back fence and stop at the Katerbow marker. Look in the cedar tree stump next to the marker. An apple for my teacher is hiding under sticks in the trunk’s cavity.
