From the intersection of George Washington Turnpike and Case Road, go west on the turnpike and take the first left (no sign today) onto Stone Road. Drive 0.6 miles and park on the right near a gate. The blue blazed Tunxis Trail is in front of you and you will be following blue blazes until the very end of the clues.

Two boxes on a two mile round trip with stamps carved by two letterboxers. The first was carved by Gizz and the second by my grandson Jared. Both of my grandsons were going to plant with us this morning but because of the dire weather forecast Gizz and I started out at the crack of dawn (seven o'clock) and left the younger generation fast asleep.

Walk around the gate and stay straight (few blazes here) watching for the blue to turn right away from this more popular bike path. Mountain bikes are very much the mode of travel here and have left many side trails along the way. Be sure you stay on the blue trail. After turning right you'll come to an intersection with several signs telling the mileage to other destinations. Follow blue uphill and then down a VERY steep hill just to go back up once again. At the top of this hill is an area of white birch trees, followed by an easy down and an easy up. After crossing a pretty prominent bike path, the trail will go up a long hill and you'll start seeing some rocks/boulders along the sides of the trail. Stop at the first large boulder on the right (just a few feet off trail, not way off trail) with some small sidekicks. Look under an overhang in back of the large fellow for a peanut butter jar containing a Gizz carved stamp. No log book.

Continue on the blue trail and when you reach the top of this hill the trail levels out for a long uneventful walk on what appears to almost be a woods road. Eventually the trail will turn left off of this road and you may see the backside of another mileage sign. Just a bit more and you'll see the blue with green dot trail on the right (also marked with a mileage sign a bit off trail). Go right onto this trail and notice two small boulders (large rocks?) on the left. Look under the overhang at the back of the second one for the stamp carved by Jared. This box contains the logbook.

If you have a map, there are others options for going back to your car. Without a map, retrace your steps.
