What better way to prepare for the Christmas Holiday than to visit Claxton, Georgia. The Fruitcake Capital of the World.
Driving into Claxton, go to the second light (past the Georgia Fruit Company). Just over the railroad tracks, take a left at the light (West Main Street). There is a right aid at the corner where you are turning. Follow the road down three blocks to the Claxton Fruit Cake Bakery on the right. Pass this shop and continue down West Main Street to the County Library on the right hand side. Just before the library is Clark Street. Take a right and make a left into the last parking slot immediately to your left after you turn onto the street. (It will be the slot closest to the book return drop box.) Locate the sidewalk surrounded by bushes. Follow this sidewalk to the corner of the awning covering the walk against the building. Look in the holly bush immediately behind the brick column supporting the awning. The box has been tucked in the base of the outside bush closest to the uncovered sidewalk. NOTE - These bushes are prickly, proceed with caution.
Please be sure to re-double bag the book and stamp to preserve from weather conditions
