Well that’s it then. You have been accepted better get your supplies. Too bad you can’t afford an owl this term there the best you know, and Eeylops Owl Emporium has some real beauties. So what will it be instead, a rat like Ron, a toad like Neville or a cat like Hermione? If you cant decide you could always ask to check out there animals. Although, Crookshanks isn’t very social I’m afraid. If your lucky you will find where he’s been, a paw print maybe.

Clues:
Head north on Hwy 1 to Morro Bay. When you hit San Jacinto turn towards the ocean. (It has been brought to my attention that the sign at this intersection is no longer there, it is the first lighted intersection you come to. )
Drive on San Jacinto until you get to the end of the street and turn left on Sandalwood. Park in the lot on your right. Instead of walking on the beach you will take the paved path that parallels the beach.

Walk along the path until you get to a spot where they have to keep the rocks locked up so, they don’t get away. Keep walking next to the wall until you get to the end. Hidden within the top rear corner you will find what your looking for. Ah but it would appear that Crookshanks has already left. Well, at least he left his print.
(We added smaller rocks to help conceal this one, try to put it back in the same spot.)

Keep walking along the path until you get to a fork in the path. Look for the triangle shaped bush with a large white rock that we thought seemed oddly out of place. This is a favorite hiding place of Neville’s toad Trevor.
You will see more of these odd rocks on your journey but for some reason Trevor prefers the first one best.

Take the path to the right and continue walking, after a ways you will cross a bridge. Walk straight ahead to the Beach Boardwalk sign, turn your back on it and face the bridge. Walk about 6 paces at 320 degrees and you should be practically standing on it. Under the first plank behind a rock Scabbers the Rat can be found.

You’re all done. You’re practically to the boardwalk you might as well keep walking and take a look at the ocean while you’re out there.
I’m sorry to say this beach is a “no dogs allowed” beach but the park isn’t, so if your letterboxing companion is a four legged friend he or she can still accompany you on your journey.
