Directions to Cedarville State Forest
- Located south of Brandywine MD
- Southbound on routes 5 or 301: Take left onto Cedarville Road. Drive about one mile and look for the entry sign on the right. Drive into the park, paying the entry fee if you don't have an annual park pass. Drive onward to the 4-way stop. Turn right. Drive about a mile to the end of the road, turning left at the end into the pond's parking lot.
Notes
- Entry to Cedarville State Forest is (per vehicle) $3 for MD state residents, $4 for out-of-state residents
- Clue sheets may be obtained at the Park Services headquarters building
- This letterbox is very close to the trail and requires no trekking in the woods!
- Please bring markers or ink pad/pen for our logbook
*** Please note paces are averaged by a troop of Girl Scouts***
Clues
Begin at the lot where the big fish swim. Walk to the head of the brown trail. Go up the steep hill and look for a 4”x4” wooden post on the right side of the trail. Count off about 70 paces. On the left you will see the “corkscrew” trees with vines wrapped around them. Directly across the trail (right) look for the logs lying down and taking a rest.
