Find your way to Nicasio Reservoir.

Nicasio Reservoir is a bit of a study in a bad idea that didn’t turn out particularly well, but it is pretty and a great recreation spot:

I came from Petaluma. Stay on Pt. Reyes-Petaluma Road after you pass the intersection of Nicasio Valley Rd and travel .8 miles to a small pull out where a trail begins. At this writing there was a hard times portapotty. Take the little trail and veer off to the right over a woodsy land bridge to an “island.” After you’re on the island spot the very large rock in front of you. If you’re in the fog or you have to squint maybe you’ll see the castle I saw. Very cool! HIke up there and look up to the west to see a larger vegetation covered rock. Make your way there and position yourself on the SW side. Now vaguely to the SW of that about 65 steps are some boulders. Head over there and go the NE side. Face the rocks and look down. On the left side wedged under a ledge and behind some rocks should be the Nicasio Harp.

The image on the stamp is from the The Royal Standard of the United Kingdom used in Scotland. The harp itself is in the lower left quadrant of the flag.

So thanks for coming and please come box up securely and hide carefully.
