Box #1

This Letterbox is dedicated to a dear "adopted" grandma at Sunrise Assisted Living in Oakton, VA. 5 years ago our eldest son began a relationship with a bright, young, lovely, resident who was fairly new to the home. He read to her, played games, and over the years have shared holidays, joys, and losts. She has become a very dear member of our family.

However, this lovely lady has MS Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Please read this short description of MS:

MS affects women more than men. The disorder is most commonly diagnosed between ages 20 and 40, but can be seen at any age.

MS is caused by damage to the myelin sheath, the protective covering that surrounds nerve cells. When this nerve covering is damaged, nerve impulses are slowed down or stopped.

The nerve damage is caused by inflammation. Inflammation occurs when the body's own immune cells attack the nervous system. Repeated episodes of inflammation can occur along any area of the brain, optic nerve, and spinal cord.

So let's get to the clue: On a lovely day you might find a resident sitting underneath this wooden gazebo type structure. Directly behind the gazebo is a wooded area. Step a few feet into this wooded area and look down at the base of a tree. Please remember to rehide well.

Box #2

“Rayn-or” shine you’ll find her inside!

Please be aware that you will be entering the residence's home. Please be considerate of the residents and hunt quietly. Please do not ask for the letterbox, but ask to speak to “_________________.” You need to use the clue to figure out the name. The best time to go is right after meal times any day of the week. Meals are served at noon and at five. If you go at other times you may find this person napping. And, just like any other napping adult, DO NOT DISTURB! If you happen to not catch this person at a good time please come back and try again! You are this person’s guest and this person is expecting you! Happy Hunting!
