AS REPORTED 2/26/06 by Birds of a Feather, this box is still there, but missing the stamp. I will either replace or remove the box the next time I have a chance to go to Goliad.
--------------
This micro letterbox is in Goliad State Park, on the same Nature Trail as Silver Eagle's Mexico Flag letterbox and my Echinacea letterbox. After touring the fascinating Mission, museum and grounds, walk northwest across the mission compound to the opening in the stone wall leading to the nature trail. Follow the loop trail, noticing all the wildflowers, butterflies, HUGE strikingly marked grasshoppers, and hearing all the songbirds, until you come down the steps to the old kiln and rock quarry area on the other side of the river.
Walk around the kiln to the bench. From the edge of the bench, follow the dwindling trail about 19 steps farther, past the corner of the bench. Notice a tree at approximately 20*. Climb up the rocks to the base of the tree. Behind the trunk, under some sticks you will find this micro-box. Please re-cover when done.
