Sorry, this 'box is no longer available but the hike up to the top is worth the trip!
Eagle Rock is on the west shore of Lake Tahoe near the Homewood Ski Resort. This volcanic outcropping rises straight up from the highway and is a easy to moderate 20 minute hike. The view from the top is amazing so bring a picnic and binoculars and see how many Tahoe landmarks you can make out from the top.
The rock is in Tahoe Pines, north of Homewood Ski Resort on Hwy 89 between mile marker 67 and 68. Park on the west side of the road in the designated parking area and walk north on the highway a short distance until you see a dirt trail heading up. There are other trails to Eagle Rock but we know this one is a relitively easy hike.
Make your way to the top, the easterly point of the rock, and enjoy the view for a while.
