The Charles C. Rogers Box
Charles Calvin Rogers was a United States Army officer and a recipient of America's highest military decoration—the Medal of Honor—for his actions in the Vietnam War. (1929-1990)
Traveling east from Charleston and Gauley Bridge take US Route 60 east. Follow this route all the way to Chimney Corners take Route 16 South you will come to “The Charges Rogers Bridge” as you approach the bridge there is a pull off area on the left pull into the parking lot. If driving from Fayetteville, you will go north on Route 16 this road is very curvy and there is some beautiful scenery of the New River you will drive across the bridge and turn right in to parking lot. When you get out you will see a HUGE rock on the right. You will walk pass the rock to the left side and walk toward the back of rock where the ground starts to go downward you will see a briar bush about half pace ( 2 steps= 1 pace)from rock you will see a small cluster of rocks the box is under the rock. Bring your own stamp pad. Please sign and stamp the book. Please replace so it will not be seen.
