Note:
This is an unmarked trail and the path may be difficult to follow at times. This is our first letterbox series so if you have issues with finding the boxes, let us know. Be sure to wear orange during hunting season.

Directions:
If you're following rt 4 from Litchfield/Torrington area, take a right on South Rd. If you're following rt 4 from the Burlington area, take a left on South Rd. About a 1 1/2 miles on the right, there will be a brown sign that says Roraback Wildlife Management Area. Park in this pullover area.

Clues:
Go past the green gate onto an unmarked wide path. You'll come to an open field. Continue on the trail as it curves left through some trees and then curves right and down through another open field. At the bottom of this field there'll be an opening in the trees on the left. Walk straight through here to another field. There'll be an opening at the bottom of the field. Walk through the opening into the last field where there'll be a worn down path at the far left bottom corner of the field. Follow this path into the woods where it becomes rocky and has lots of tree roots. The path curves left and comes to a pond straight ahead. At a T intersection go left. The pond will now be on your right. After crossing a few fallen trees, you'll see two barkless trees on your right about 10 feet apart. Turn around so these trees and the pond are at your back. Walk about 20 paces straight ahead to a tree that twists/snakes at its base. From here look to your left to see a long fallen tree about 17 paces away. Behind this tree is a big mossy rock. Behind this rock you'll find the Darting Dragonfly box under soem leaves and bark. Please rehide well!

Go back to the path and continue on. Eventually you'll come to an opening with the pond on your right. Go right and walk on the gravel path over the dam. After crossing the dam you'll come to a fork. Take the right path back into the woods. Stay straight and you'll cross over a small outlet from the pond with cement blocks on your right. After this you'll come to a fork where you could go left or straight. Stay straight to eventually come to a T intersection with a small swamp with a nature sign in front of you. At this T intersection, take a left. Continue following this path until you come to a stone wall. Walk through this stone wall and immediately walk 23 paces left down parallel to the wall. You'll cross over a fallen tree and end up at a sister tree. Step over the stone wall and look slightly right to see a large knotty tree. In a nook at the bottom of this tree you'll find the Bouncing Butterfly box. Please rehide well!

Go back up the stone wall to the path and go back the way you came. When you reach the T intersection, this time go straight so the small swamp is on your left. Go past some nature signs on your left and right, explaining about wildlife in the area. At the next T intersection, head right past a large Roraback Wildlife Management Area sign. Continue straight where you'll pass more nature signs on your left. The trail then curves left through a small clearing with a stone wall ahead of you. The path now leads back into the woods. The pond will again be on the right of you. Follow this path for a while and be on the lookout for an undefined fork on your left. If the path suddenly ends with the pond ahead of you, you went too far and need to turn around. So, you need to take the undefined path on the left over fallen trees and rocks where it veers right and crosses over a small stream. Stay straight for a little ways and be on the lookout for the left path that leads back to your car. Make sure to take that left path. As a reminder from here go up the first field then straight through the next field on the path then through the opening in the trees to the next field. Go straight all the way up to the top left of the field and follow the path through the trees as it curves right and brings you back up to your car.
