"Next stop, Llanerch Junction, gateway to Haverford Township!" the conductor called. I gathered my carpetbag and stood, ready to hop off of the trolley and begin my new life. After two weeks of living in a Philadelphia boarding house, Llanerch Hills was like being in a different world. At this intersection, where Darby Road and West Chester Pike meet, there was plenty of activity with the trolley works nearby, but there were fields of green and just a few houses within walking distance. Not at all croweded, like the city. As I stepped onto the platform, I swiveled my head to take it all in, trying to decide which direction to go. I could go west up the pike, toward West Chester and life as a tenent farmer, or hop back on the trolley toward Ardmore and the Main Line, to become a servant in a weathly household. Oh, what to do??

"No loitering here, lad," the big Irish cop said, looking sternly at me. "Oh, no sir," I replied, quickly deciding which way to go. "Can you tell me, please, which trolley heads toward Ardmore?" "Aye...it's right over there. Oh, look, it's your lucky day, lad! There's a token laying there, right near that bench -- the one put up by the Llanerch Women's Club. See it? There by the back leg!" I followed his finger, pointing to the bench by the sidewalk, and sure enough, up by the back leg, there was a little bit of treasure for me. I quickly found the token and proceeded on my way to the platform, and toward my future, knowing that indeed, it was my lucky day!

Hint: This is a microbox with a magnetic top. Please take care to rehide well.
