Find Port Hadlock near Port Townsend WA. Take Rt. 116 toward Indian Island, Marrowstone Island and Fort Flagler State Park.
Soon after entering RT.116 you cross a high bridge. Immediately after crossing it, turn right into a small park.
The turn is very close to the bridge.
Trailhead is marked "Portage Trail". In 10 minutes or less you will see a very majestic and solitary Cedar tree on the left. (There is a box behind it, but not this box). Walk on another couple hundred feet or so. On the left is a 2 ft. diameter Madrona tree with a white blaze near its base. The box is behind, under forest debris and a small rock.

This box was found open and damaged, probably not intentionally by trail workers. I salvaged it as best I could and re-hid. The book was soaked beyond salvage. Only the stamp and a soaked stamp pad remain. I have not identified the original owners, but it was an auction prize form the PTA. capt.billy
