This is a lovely short hike on Mt. Hood, just below Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort. Drive up through the entrance into the Resort. Stop and park at the trailhead, there is a brown sign and parking along the roadway. This hunt is best done before the snow flies or after it melts, though not impossible if your here to play in the snow.

Follow the trail down to the boardwalk bridge. Take the time to wander over the other side to see the beautiful waterfall 'cause that's really why you're here. Then head back across the boardwalk bridge and take the paved path that goes up the left side of the falls. It wanders up in switchbacks to the main parking lot of Mt. Hood Meadows. About half way up, between the top of the falls and the bridge, there is a dead tree loaded with "bubbles" beside the path and on the other side are 2 logs; both are right by the path no need to leave the path. Under the longer log at the lower end is a very protected hiding place. Carefully reach in and remove. Be aware that there could be creepy crawlies or slimy pricklies within. Please be sure to replace it carefully and snuggly to protect it from the deep snows, drifts, and melts and other unwanted visitors.

Hint: There are lots of trees with bumps with logs on the opposite side, but you will know it when you see it.
