Note:
This is a very popular loop trail around Little Bantam Pond. Please be discreet when stamping in!

Directions: From Burlington/Harwinton/Torrington area follow rt 118 towards Litchfield to the Litchfield green where rt 118 ends and rt 202 West continues. Follow rt 202 West until you come to a Mobil gas station. Right before this gas station, turn left on South Lake St. Follow this road all the way to the end where there is a dirt parking area.

Directions:
From New Milford area, follow rt 202 East towards Litchfield and once in Litchfield go past a Webster Bank and Dunkin Donuts on your right. Shortly after is a Mobil Station. Right after this is a road on your right. Turn here on South Lake St and follow to the end where there's a dirt parking area.

Clues:
Walk into the woods towards a brown sign that says Information. Go past this sign to a boardwalk. Follow this boardwalk until you come to a fork. Turn right at the fork and follow the boardwalk quite a ways. The boardwalk will end and then you'll walk on a dirt path. The boardwalk will start up again and then stop and go back to a dirt path then the boardwalk will continue again. The 3rd time the boardwalk stops you'll come to a rooty, rocky path that's the white square black dot blaze trail. Walk past the easy to miss first fork that's the red trail and when you see a white arrow pointing rightt on a tree ahead of you on the left of the trail, turn right at this fork. Walk a short ways until two large boulders are in front of you on the path. Go left into the woods here and see a large tree with a large fallen tree behind it a little ways off the trail. Hidden under the fallen tree where it broke off under leaves and bark you'll find the Terrible Tiger letterbox.

Go back to the main loop trail and continue on the boardwalk over a bridge. Continue on and you'll come to a 2nd bridge. Continue on back on the boardwalk and when the boardwalk ends and you're on a dirt path, take the right fork on a dirt/grass path. Eventually you'll come to another boardwalk that looks like it used to be the old boardwalk trail as it's all overgrown. Walk slightly uphill. Ahead of you you should see an overhanging fallen tree above the trail. Before this, you'll see a spikey tree on your left and a big fallen tree a bit past that tree into the woods a bit. The spikey tree has a diamond shaped sign that says Natural area on it. Hidden in the roots of the large fallen tree under bark and leaves and a dirt clump, you'll find the Tiny Turtle letterbox.

At the fork where you turned off, go right back on the main loop boardwalk trail. At the next fork, take a right on the boardwalk that takes you back to your car.
