Skip and Rubaduc have been given permission to continue the Waterfalls Series, after its creator retired. Speaking of retired,...if you are following the series, know that Waterfalls Letterboxes #1,#2,#3,#5, Personal Traveller, and #15 have all been retired. (Maybe to be revived again one day?)

DIRECTIONS:

Waterfalls Twenty-six is located at Prydden Falls which flows into Lake Zoar in Newtown and Monroe. It can be found at the end of Great Quarter Road off of RT 34, very near the intersection with Rt 111. It is also the starting location for GAP's Pixie Hollow Series. And you can follow his directions to the Falls. (Although I find the mile measurements to be confusing.)

CLUES:

Park at the end of Great Quarter Road, and look for the blue-blazed trail to the right of the bulletin board. You do not want to go through the gate marked "Emergency Exit."
The blue blazes will take you all the way to the unmarked approach trail to the falls. This is a well-marked trail and completely free of any brush. I met many four-legged friends on the trail, the day that I planted this box. (I also met many 5-inch,crimson-colored many-legged centipedes. Way cool!) There are great spots along the way to stop and unpack a lunch. But try to save it for the falls. You will be walking for 30-45 minutes.
After you have passed the small beach on your right, and have hopped over the short stoney stretch of trail, you will come past a gravelly dry stream to a blue blaze that directs you to the left. You will also see an unmarked trail that leads up the hill to the right. TAKE THE RIGHT UNMARKED TRAIL. In no time, you will hear the falls.
Go to the bottom of the falls, where they meet the lake. Look back up to the crest of the falls. (Silvermist of Pixie Hollow is looking back at you.) You will notice the boulders and ledge to the right of the falls. Midway up the falls, there is a noticeable rusty gouge (about 4-feet square) on one part of the ledge. The Waterfalls Twenty-six letterbox is located on a shelf right in the middle of that rusty gouge and covered with two flat stones. Please conceal the box completely after you have stamped in.
(7.27.13)There is a BONUS WATERFALLS BOX hidden nearby. The directions to the PRITON BROOK BOX are contained in the Waterfalls Twenty-six Box. When you find the falls and secret pool, look for the two pointy rocks that are pointing into the pool and stacked on each other. The Bonus Box is hidden underneath the point of the rock on the bottom.
