Daffynition: A Mugwump is a bird that sits on a fence with it's mug on one side and it's wump on the other. And therein lies the clue to the code.

Go south to the end, turn around, and park on the right side of the road. Head south past the gate. When the the road forks, go left around the spruce trees on your left. Keep going on the road, passing the lone White Pine on your left. Continue on into the woods and begin watching for an old log on the right that has been sawed in two. Stop at the stump 38 steps past the sawed log. From the stump, find the broken-over tree 80 steps away at an azimuth of 326° and look inside.
