Flynt Park Letterbox (also known as Rogers Field). This box was hidden after the June 1st Tornado and is not damaged.

Directions to Flynt Park
From the North: On Route 32 turn right onto Thompson Street which is accross from Wing Medical. Go all the way to the stop sign at the end (Margaret Street). Turn left and go to the stop sign (across the street you will see stone pillars). Go between the stone pillars, drive up the hill, and the fields are on your right.

History of Flynt Park:
An industrial economy flourished in the town's early days; waterpower was abundant and small mills were scattered over Monson's 48 square miles. A hat factory, several woolen and cotton mills and the Flynt Granite Company all thrived for more than 100 years. A.D. Ellis Mills, Inc., known world-wide for its fine woolen cloth, was the last to leave, closing about thirty years ago.

Clues: (Don't forget your ink pad!)
Enter the park at the main entrance between the two brick pillars. You will see a sign that welcomes you to Flynt Park (also the Dr. Rodger’s Athletic Fields). Drive up the hill, then bare to the left. There will be a baseball field on your left. When you come to another field (at the top of a paved knoll) this is where you should park. (Please be aware that athletic games may be going on, depending on the time of day and the season).

On your right you will see a dirt path that goes into the woods. There will be a large rock ledge on your left. Eventually after following the path for a short while you will be able to see the baseball field that you passed earlier on your right. You will come to a fork in the path, stay straight.

You will soon pass a big rock on your right and another big rock shortly after that on your left. You should be able to see the soccer field through the trees to your right.

Go past where you can see the edge of the soccer field. When you come to a tree with an orange marking on it and a fork in the path, go left. You will see a pile of rocks. The letterbox is hidden under the biggest rock in the pile.

Please be sure to rehide the letterbox and cover it so people walking on the path cannot see it. Retrace your steps to return to your vehicle. We hope you enjoyed finding this letterbox! Happy Letterboxing!
