At first we wanted to plant this letterbox on the Freedom Trail in Boston, but we could not find a place. This was after we had decorated the box...so unfortunately plans change sometimes. We were searching for another letterbox around this area and came upon this place that is only to be found if one knows where to look. So we decided to share this special place with you. Happy Hunting!

Directions to Bearskin Neck:

Take MA-128N towards Gloucester. After the 2nd traffic circle (rotary), turn right on Eastern Ave./ MA-127. Turn right on Broadway/ MA-127A. You will be on that road/ Mt. Pleasant St. Continue using the clues.

Clues:

Facing the sign that tells you about Bearskin Neck turn to your right and walk up Mt. Pleasant Street. After browsing all the cute little shops around, you’ll eventually make a left on Atlantic Avenue. Walk up this street until it slightly curves where you’ll see a small street sign that says Public Foot Path in front of a trail leading into a wooded area. Take this path for a short walk until it comes out to a rocky area overlooking the water. Start heading to the left where you’ll see a stone bench labeled, “In loving memory of John E. Wilder”. Sit on this bench and after you’ve taken in all the beautiful scenery, look to your right. You’ll see a small tree/ bushy area leaning away from the water in the very middle of the rock area. At the base of this tree is our letterbox! Be very discreet for this is a popular relaxing area for those who found this place! Our letterbox is under a bunch of smaller rocks so be sure to replace it exactly how you found it! Enjoy your stay at one of our favorite vacation spots and happy hunting! :)

Note:

We have our very own stamp, pen, and notebook enclosed in our box so be sure to stamp your personal stamp in our notebook, feel free to leave us a note, and stamp your logbook with our stamp as well. Make sure to let us know you’ve found it by changing the status on the website and emailing us!
