We are part of The Independent Day School Summer Programs. Our class is called Outdoor Adventurers and we travel around Middlefield/Middletown/Durham hiking and searching for letterboxes. We carved our own stamps and created our own clues during our camp course. Please enjoy!

For more information about our school or summer programs please visit: www.independentdayschool.org.

Make your way to the Big Falls at Wadsworth State Park. Park in the lot and cross the open field. Walk down the stair case to the waterfall. Walk with the falls to your right and find a small clearing. Take the trail uphill on the left. Bear right even further up the hill. You will cross a huge tree down across the hill. Continue uphill but be careful- it is steep!

As the trail levels, you will hear the water on your right. When you reach the second of two downed trees on the leveled trail, go over it and turn around. Look for the rock to your right and you will find Logan's IDS stamp.

After you stamp, continue on the trail away from the falls. Go around a skinny tree in the middle of the trail. Take a left up to a path and some red picnic benches. Pass the benches and look left for a huge 3-sister tree among the smaller trees. Look on the back side of the tree near the twisted root and under some logs for Jack's Apple Stamp.

After you stamp, go back to the picnic benches and back down to the main trail. Continue away from the falls. Cross over two dead tree limbs and under a dead limb hanging over the trail. Pass a grey birch on your right. A skinny tree should be net on your right and then a huge single tree (we think oak?). Look in the hole of the big tree under sticks and leaves for Sofia's Heart Stamp and the logbook.

After you stamp, turn around and retrace your steps back to the waterfall and parking lot. We hope you enjoyed the IDS Outdoor Adventurers series.
