This is Adams first box :) We absolutely love this beach it is a perfect place to bring Kobe.
This letterbox is located at the Dahl Sanctuary, next to LL Bean and across the street from Burger King. Parking is a small dirt lane in front of a metal gate or right in the LL Bean Parking lot.
Once past the gate, take the path that goes straight (not to the left). Follow the path around the large field. It ends up running parallel to the Saco river for much of your walk. Follow the path until the very end when it ends on the beach. Don't take any of the little shortcut paths to the beach just stay on the main path until it dumps you on the beach.
Once you are on the rocky beach look straight across the river where you will see another mini beach. Depending on the water level the mini beach may or may not be there. I am not sure.
You will see a couple of long trees overhanging the river. Make your way across (difficulty doing this is going to depend on the water levels so use caution and make sure to watch for kayaks and people in canoes). Climb up on the banking and stand at the base of the overhanging trees. Turn to your 11 o'clock and take 14 steps to a group of three trees. In the middle of this cluster you will find what you seek. Please re hide well.
Water shoes are recommended since the river is rocky and fast moving if it is high. We found it beneficial to start forging across the river beyond the trees so that you can walk with the current instead of fighting it.
