The beautiful Kirkwood Gardens is part of the Squam Lakes Science Center (entrance located around the corner on Rte. 113). The gardens and science center are worth visiting in the quaint town of Holderness. Both fun and educational, plan to make a day of it!!!

Clues:

Starting at the Artisan Fine Arts and Craft sign on the front lawn, notice the wagon wheel to your left.
From the wagon wheel, take 33 steps to the bench that is dedicated to Laurence and May Webster.
Move to the center of the circular lawn.
Looking forward into the lower garden, spy a path at about the 1 o'clock position on the circular lawn.
Wind along that pathway into the garden below.
Upon entering the gardens, search for "Nancy's Girl" on the right side of the gardens. (Hint: she loves birds!)
Take time to stop and enjoy all the BEAUTIFUL flowers, great spot for photos!
From "Nancy's Girl" curve around to take a rest under the apple tree. Can you see the pergola from here?
Once rested, head through the gardens to the pergola.
Enter the pergola. Can you find the Texas boot birdhouse hidden inside?
Now turn around and face the stone fountain.
Upon exiting the pergola, look to your right, you should see a stone pathway there.
Take 20 stone steps to a small stone bench.
Rest on the bench. You are ON to the secret now!!
Casually look underneath the bench for a pile of stones.
Letterbox will be behind them.
Please leave your mark, then discreetly re-hide the box in the same location.

Note: This letterbox will only be available during the Spring, Summer, and Fall months.
