This box was planted in memory of my good friend who just happened to be a Gemini, like myself. One of my fondest memories of her took place on the Deerfield River. We hung strings of beads and bobbles onto trees next to the river and watch them sparkle in the sun shine.

This walk is in Mohawk Trail Conservation Area/Franklin Land Trust.
The walk is about 45 minutes on a fairly flat path with one short but steep incline. This box doesn't have an ink pad or pen.

The parking area for the DRWA is on Route 2, better known as The Mohawk Trail. It is in Shelburne Falls across from Shelburne Falls Mini Self Storage. (Between Arbations Hardware and the Police Barracks).

CLUES:

After you have parked, go to the "Mahican-Mohawk" trail sign. Step over the log to the left of the sign onto the white blazed dirt trail. You will walk on a fairly even path that will take you to a short but steep decline that goes over a bridge and continues down. At the bottom of the hill, keep following the white trail. You will go through an opened field area then under some power wires. After the power wires go straight onto a dirt road. Watch for a very large boulder coming up on your right. When you get to the boulder, stop. Take 20 steps down the road.To your right is a trail that goes to the river bank. To the left find two trees that are growing on a rock with exposed roots. Behind the trees and under a rock you will find Gem and I.

Please double bag the contents of the box. If you continue to walk farther down the road you will come to a landing for kayaks.
