This letterbox journey begins at the Blue Heron nature preserve just outside of Saukville on county O. If coming from the south you will take N mill street which will turn into county O. Or if coming the north you can access county o from county I.
The blue heron is a beautiful nature preserve free to the public with hiking trails, a river view and apple orchards. It is marked with signage and has a website.
Drive in past the bison and large barn to park. Take the main trail past the apple orchard. It is a large mowed trail with wooden barracades across it's enterance. Take the first walking trail to your right, up a hill. You will come to a "y" take the left trail. Ahead you will see a pine forest... You are going in the right direction. As you reach the top of the hill do you notice something well known to your right? Go to it's base... There you shall find what you seek. Stamp up and read about the parks history.
Drop me an email at berchta76@aol.com if the box needs any special attention. Happy hunting!!
