Ozaukee County has many hidden treasures to enjoy. Ehlers Park is one of those little gems. Its a scenic park nestled along the Milwaukee river and County W outside of Saukville. This letterbox journey will take you for a nice short hike along the river, great for small children, or someone looking for an easy find.
You will need to take County W north in the town of Saukville. Or if you are coming from the north west take Hwy 57 until you see County W on your right. Look for the small brown Ehlers Park sign with yellow arrow. Park by the no motorized vehicle sign..your path begins here. You will notice 3 large stones to your left and 5 to your right. If you look to your left you will see the Milwaukee river..home of many blue herons and other beautiful wild life. And to your right will be County Rd. W. Walk along this pathway.
You will notice a telephone pole to your left and a large bush to your right...you are getting close. Keep walking until you see a clearing that takes you down to the rivers shore.
Walk 30 paces past the clump
Of trees in the middle. To your left will be a Broken tree. Look inside. Stamp up and enjoy the rest of your river walk! Please email me if the box needs repair or is missing:)
