Off Rt. 127 in Arrowsic, take Whitmore’s Landing to Doubling Point Road. When it dead-ends you’ll be at Doubling Point. Find the weirdest structure (you can vote on it and see if you agree that it’s the weirdest). It used to house the fog bell, before the tower was cut off and it was moved to its current location. Behind the pyramid look for three concrete blocks. With the blocks as your marker, reach under the pyramid’s lip and you’ll find either a rattlesnake or the first twin! He is the smiling one.
P.S. While we were looking for a good place to hide our letterbox, we found an already hidden letterbox, although we haven’t located the clues online. It has lovely handmade stamps of both Doubling Point and the Range Lights (you need your own stamp pad). Since we can’t find clues listed, we are posting some here. First, find the marble head. If you were the marble head, and you had eyes in the back of your head, and you wanted to get out of the rain, and you had a key to the keeper’s house, and you had feet, you might hightail it to this nice dry spot, neither indoors nor outdoors, and if you did, you would step over the second hidden letterbox to get there.
