Boulder Park Accessible Trail in the Chester-Blandford State Forest on Route 20.

I made these boxes to honor my friends that help humans with handicaps. My humans took me to the parking lot so I could hide my letterboxes. At the main entrance there was a sign about the park but I couldn't read it because it was too high. To the right was a handicap parking spot. We walked thru that spot and up some really neat stone stairs to a trail at the top. We then walked to the right, past the pavilion and all the way to a bench looking at a giant boulder. It wasn’t very far for my humans but for me it was a lot of steps, especially since I have four feet. To find the letterbox, stand at the left end of the bench, with your back to the giant boulder. Take a compass bearing of 200 degrees (don’t ask me what that is but that is what mom said). Walk 17 human steps, look for a rotted fallen tree with a 3ft cut stump. Look in the top of the cut stump for my first letterbox.

Now go back the way you came, past the "Rustic Structure" sign and past all the stone stairs that go back down to the parking lot,(don’t bother sniffing all the acorns they don’t taste good). Where the parking lot ends the trail forks, take the right fork. This brings you to another wood sitting bench. Nope, I did not hide one here. Take the stone stairs up the hill following the blue triangle trail, after crossing two wooden bridges, (don’t worry they won’t break - I tested them) follow the trail to the right of the pond to a stone bridge. Cross the stone bridge and at the end of it look to your right for a large birch tree. This tree is really cool because it has roots sticking out like giant toes. It is approximately 17 human steps away. The 2nd box is behind this tree, hidden under a rock and some turf I dug up. By the way dads get mad when you get your paws full of dirt.

Go back over the stone bridge and to the right, with the pond to your right. There is a small trail straight ahead leading to another rustic pavilion. Check it out. It is kind of cool, and smells of squirrels. Go back out the small trail turn right past the fireplace grate, which by the way smelled old and there were no scraps from the last barbeque anywhere. Follow the blue triangle trail down the hill. Cross the wooden bridge over the mossy green stone steps of the brook. Now go to the right of the 2nd wood bridge. As you come down the trail look for a very rotted dead standing tree with a blue triangle trail marker on it. On the right edge of the trail, just ahead is a twin tree growing behind a large split rock. The last box is tucked between the split of the big rock in the middle of the split.

After that it was back to the parking lot, out of the walking harness and back into the Jeep to go off on another adventure. I enjoyed this, hope you do to and watch for more of my boxes in the future.
