These boxes both with handcarves were placed in honor of my best friend Chastity and her family. Because of our large distance we meet at this fine park outside of Horicon. It is a beautiful park with picnic areas, hiking trails, camping and unique rock formations lined with moss and ferns you can walk on top of, or in between. It Is located in the north central part of Dodge County, between Horicon and Mayville, just off of county TW. You are looking for the Ledge Rocks trail parking. The trail head begins on the right of this parking area with two benches, one on each side of the trail, and a large stump. This trail follows along the road on your right and ledge rocks on your left. Stay on the trail closest to the road.
You will see a bridge to your left with a stump and trail..do not take this trail. Stay on the trail closest to the road. You are looking for the metal gate with a road closed sign on it to your right. Once you see the metal gate you will look to your left, you are looking for a wooden post. It marks the start of a stair case that takes you down into then rock ledges. Be careful it can be slippery.
Take the pathway through the ledge crevis , to your left you will see a very old ancient tree protecting a bridge, lots of mossy rocks to walk in between and around, and a large cluster of rocks in the middle of the trail.
Take this pathway until you come to a two trees to your right, that seem to be embracing, take 3 steps up the crevis, look to your left. You will see a mossy large slab, leaned over another mossy slab, look down between the two and you will find the letterbox.
Box two is located nearby. Continue on trail until it forks. Take trail to your right down slight incline. You will notice a broken stump to your left right before the largest tree on your left. Look inside.box #2! Stamp up and keep exploring.

Hike length: 0.1 miles
