LOCATION: Mt. Tom Reservation-125 Reservation Road, Holyoke, MA.
(Off RT 5)
LENGTH: About 2 miles with moderately steep inclines. This is a loop walk.
POTENTIAL ADDED BONUS: Mt. Tom Letterbox is on this trail. (It's an easy snag.)
NOT SO MUCH A BONUS: There is a $2.00 fee on weekends. But it goes to a good cause, right?

DIRECTIONS: After you enter the reservation, stop at the ranger station to get a map. Drive past Bray Lake and up the road until you see a sign that reads, "Hampden" on your right. Pull in Hampden Field parking lot. The Beau Bridges (BLUE BLAZED) Trail is on the right side of the parking lot. It is marked with a sign. Follow the Beau Bridges Trail over six bridges. (After the second bridge you are close to the Mt. Tom LB). After you cross the sixth bridge, STOP. Take 32 steps up the path. Look left and go 6 steps to a large trunked tree. Get the water.

Continue up the blue blazed trail. When you come to a fork in the path, go right to the red blazed Tea Bag Trail. At the "Tea Bag Trail" sign, take 22 steps down the red blazed trail. Look to your right. Take 12 steps to a twin oak. Get the tea.

Go back to the "Tea Bag Trail" sign. Follow the M&M white blazed trail to Goat's Peek. When you come to the access road, cross it and continue on the white trail. You're almost there. After the last steep incline, look for a tree with a white blaze on the right. The path also turns right. From the white blazed tree, take 28 steps up the trail. There is a rock outcrop on the right with three small trees growing amongst them. Take 5 steps to the rocks and find the tea cup.

If you made it to Goat's Peek without the cup, stand at the first bench and walk back down the trail 33 steps and the tea cup is on the left.

Nice view, right? If you are so "inclined", you can take the path behind the benches to a kiosk, and climb the cement steps that lead to a tower over look.

If you want to "decline", follow the M&M trail, (white blazed trail), down the path to a T crossing, where theM&M meets a paved foot path. Go left onto the paved foot path and you will see Hampden Field parking area.

These boxes do not have ink pads. And there is only one log book, it is in the last box.
