Strathmore Arts Center, 10701 Rockville, Pike, North Bethesda, MD 20852
Enter Strathmore’s parking lot from the Rockville Pike entrance or ride the Metro redline to the Grovernor/Strathmore stop. From the metro take the covered bridge to the front of the building where the ticket office is located.
1. “Be a Star”
With your back to the Music Center at Strathmore walk toward the outdoor stage. Dance under the stars.
Just before the stage take the sidewalk to the right.
Take the first right up the walkway to the water fountains and rest rooms at the base of the Mansion
Go left up the stairs to the mansion’s outdoor grassy lawn
Approach the big white “Margaret Muse”
Look in the woods behind the statue for the ancient overgrown stone chimney.
At the base find Kyle’s box “Be a Star”.
2. “Dancing Feet”
From “Margaret Muse” continue on the stone sidewalk to the 3rd light post. Go down the grassy hill.
Jump over the dry stony ditch.
Go up to the brick wall.
Under some rocks find Sean's Dancing Feet.
(It was taken from the 7 trunks & the new one is at the wall.) Let's hope it likes its new home.
3. “You Are the Music”
Go back to the “Baron”
Find the “Garden Kaleidoscope”
Turn the scope to the left or right for a cool view.
Continue on the stony path through the sculptures
Pose at “Mantis” and have a friend take your picture.
At the end of the sidewalk look for the 2 deer
Cross the driveway and go to the front of the gazebo
Take the asphalt path in the direction of the music center.
Going straight ahead on the grass and find the knotty maple tree
Check the base of the tree for Suzie’s box “You Are the Music”
Nestle back in the rocks and cover with the bark.
