This was the Hornets on the Move first trip for the 2011-2012 school year. We had 18 students go with us on this trip. Our first stop was in Maydelle at the Old Farmhouse Pottery. The owner, David Hendley, gave us a wonderful tour of the facilities and even demonstrated making a vase for us. He has a lot of beautiful handcrafted pieces and if you are ever in Maydelle, be sure and look him up.

To the Box
Old Farmhouse Pottery is located one mile west of Maydelle on Hwy 84. There will be a sign for the Old Farmhouse Pottery. When you have found the correct road, Continue until you see a split in the road. To the left is black top road and to the right is a dirt road. There will be a sign for the Old Farmhouse Pottery here too. The dirt road leads you up to the pottery house. Stop right where the two roads split and find the sign for CR 1805 with a yellow No Outlet sign below it. Facing the sign and the dirt road, look to your right for a cedar tree. The letterbox in a bag is buried at the base of the cedar on the opposite side of the barb wired fence. Be sure and check out he Mr Hendley's work, it is well worth the visit.
