This box is dedicated to Sarge and Mr. Sarge.
They retired in North Canaan and became very active volunteering with many committees and organizations. Northwestern CT Girl Scouts was one of their favorites. They held many positions in the Girl Scout Council such as Trainers, Service Unit Co-chairs, Neighborhood Co-chairs, and Troop Leaders. They also volunteered at the council’s Camp Maria Pratt where Sarge was the camp nurse and Mr. Sarge the camp gopher. They started the “French Toast Breakfast” that became a very popular event for all North Canaan Girl Scouts and their families. It was held every year on Girl Scout Sunday, at the Pilgrim House. North Canaan Girl Scouts, thanks to the kindness of the North Canaan Congregational Church, held many other events and overnights here. It only felt appropriate that I planted this stamp here with many thanks to Sarge and Mr. Sarge for all their years of service.
Clues:
Locate the Pilgrim House on Granite Avenue in North Canaan, CT. This is a community building and can be very busy at times. Park near the right side of the parking area and take 12 paces up the dirt driveway. This box is behind the right side of the two sister tree. It would be best if you take it back to your car to stamp.
