Our family hid this first letterbox after seeing the movie "Courageous". The verse Joshua 24:15 is our family motto. We usually enjoy the trails at N. Platte Purchase Park in the evenings and thought this would be the perfect place for our first box!

So to begin your journey for our box, you must first make your way to the N. Platte Purchase Park (2800 NW 100th Street, Kansas City, MO 64154). You can access the park from Hwy 152. Take the N. Platte Purchase Drive exit off of Hwy 152 heading north (there are brown signs leading you to the park too). Drive down N. Platte Purchase Drive into the country until you reach the park entrance on the left. Turn into the park entrance and stay on the main park road.

At the end of the road (after the baseball complex turn), you will be in a dead end parking lot for the trail. Please park here. Walk to the trail entrance to the right of the parking lot right along some woods. Stay on the paved trail until you get to the 2nd sitting bench. The second bench is about a half of a mile down the trail. Once you get to the bench, count 30 yards with your feet. You will see some taller grass, white rock, and a drain right off the trail to the left here. Walk over to the area so that you are right above the silver drain. Step down so you are looking into the drain (there might be a little water here sometime in the year). Directly left of the silver drain, you will see the letterbox tucked up against the drain, covered with a white rock. Please let us know that you found it by signing our log. Also, please put everything back in its original container and hide it back under the rock. Oh, and enjoy the rest of your walk in the park.

Thanks,
The Hanson Crew
